Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, New York has enrolled in Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc.'s Power Pay! Western New York Demand Response Program. Recently re-launched, ECS has dedicated an additional $5 million in program payments to Western New York businesses alone. The funding that Shea's receives will help further enable its preservation, while preventing critical shortfalls in the electric grid.

Tony Conte, president of Shea's remarked, "We are pleased to be able to benefit from this program which provides us the opportunity to execute environmentally conscious efforts and cost saving measures.

"Shea's will reduce ancillary lighting and other power for a few hours when possible, when there is a strain on the grid, threatening power outages. Programs like Power Pay! also prevent the need to build peaking power plants, which are costly and often heavy polluters.

"We're excited to be able to offer this program to the Western New York community, we sincerely enjoy working with our local landmarks" said Glen Smith, president and CEO of ECS. "Demand Response is a great, risk-free first step for many to reduce energy usage. As a community we need to embrace other economically and environmentally conscious initiatives like the PowerPay! Western New York Program."

ECS will also make a donation of ten Jack Pine trees to the Arbor Day Foundation through its Green Roots Initiative, which was introduced in August 2008. To date, the Green Roots Program has resulted in a total donation of 3,500 trees to the Arbor Day Foundation.
